What is MobiCuff?

MOBICUFF IS A BLOOD PRESSURE AND RESPIRATORY MONITOR FOR MOBILE DEVICES.

MobiCuff is an adapter that converts a sphygmomanometer blood pressure cuff into a smartphone blood pressure monitor.

Over 80 Million people in the US have high blood pressure.

We know taking your blood pressure is not the first thing you think about when you wake up. It might not even be the last thing you do before bed. We at Safe Heart want to help make measuring your blood pressure easier and more fun.

We understand that, though it benefits people to take charge of their own health, it is a lifestyle change - one that busy schedules often will not accomodate.  We want to make an uncomfortable experience as pleasurable as possible through our innovative app.

We want to empower you to take control of your health!

What's so special about the MobiCuff?

Though the MobiCuff is only meant to measure blood pressure, it covers a wide range of health concerns.  Those who simply want to live a healthier lifestyle can use our product to see if their blood pressure matches the positive changes they’ve made in their diet and exercise routine.  For those with pressing health issues -- such as hypertension, diabetes, or sleep apnea -- the MobiCuff is a way monitor yourself between doctors visits by letting you check your blood pressure as regularly as you want.

The MobiCuff is:

  • User friendly
  • Affordable
  • Mobile
  • Addictive

By using a hand-pump sphygmomanometer design, the MobiCuff has no motor, no batteries, and no charger. The hand-pump design makes it more accurate and faster.

The MobiCuff Story

MobiCuff was originally developed by a team of five brilliant scientists from the Oxford Centre for Affordable Healthcare Technology. The team advised by Prof Gari Clifford includes Carlos Arteta, Joao Domingos, Marco Pimentel, Mauro Santos, and Mohammad Ali Maraci. The core technology behind the MobiCuff won the Dell Innovation Challenge in 2012.

We've already completed development, production planning, and identified the manufacturing partners to build the MobiCuff. We are using facilities that are ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 certified, experienced in building other health devices.

Mobicuff Technology Demo at Atlanta Startup Village #20 held at the Atlanta Tech Village on September 29, 2014. Thanks go out to Jon Birdsong and Erin Rosintoski for helping make this presentation go smoothly!
